    Good morning,

This month at Abbey we would like to raise awareness to the perimeter doors at our client’s buildings.
These common doors should be checked periodically to make sure that the building is appropriately secured from unwanted intruders.
    ·         We will be focusing on the service entrance street doors and street entrance doors.  These doors and gates get used and abused all day.

Check list for Service Entrance Street Doors:

    ·         Make sure gate does not slam, causing a liability issue should the gate slam on a resident.

    ·         Make sure the service entrance gate electric strike (if applicable) is working accordingly.

    ·         Check list for Street Entrance Doors:

§  Make sure the floor check is not allowing the door to slam

§  Make sure the floor check is not leaking oil.

§  Make sure (if applicable) the hold open feature on your  floor check engages accordingly and holds the door in place.

§  Check to see if the doors are rubbing against the saddle which may be prevent door from coming into a complete closed position.

    ·         If there is a door that residents should not be going thru, there is always the option to install a free standing alarm.  In the event of an emergency, door can be opened even though the alarm is active.

These are just some of the measures that can be taken to secure the perimeter of the building as well as keeping your residents feel like their home is secured accordingly.

If you, our valued customer, needs any further assistance feel free to call us at anytime.

    Thanks,
